The very first music box tv radio made by Fisher-Price was 1959's #148 Jack And Jill: a wide rectangular wooden box with a wooden carry handle on top supported by two short metal posts. The same music box body style was used with 6 other music boxes. The second music box body style was introduced in 1960 as the #764 Farmer In The Dell: a tall rectangular wooden box with a triangular wooden "roof" on top. The third music box style was introduced in 1962 as the #997 Music Box Tick-Tock Clock: a tall rectangular wooden box with school house lithographs and a clock face with movable clock hands. Though not pictured in our Music Box Body Styles timeline, the first Double Screen Color TV Music box was introduced in 1964 as the #196 Hey Diddle Diddle Double Screen Color TV Music Box. The fourth music box style was introduced in 1967 as the Music Box Pocket Radios. Three of the Pocket Radios were introduced in 1967: #774 Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, #775 Sing A Song of Sixpence, and #778 Frere Jacques. This body style has a small wooden back, a plastic front fact, and a vinyl plastic carry handle on top. This body style was used more than all other styles put together! The well-know #114 Two-Tune Music Box TV and was also introduced in 1967. The fifth music box style looks more like the tall narrow 1960's music box style, but the fifth style was introduced in 1968. The fifth style has a tall narrow body with a round peep window in the back that shows the music box mechanisms. In 1969, Fisher-Price introduced two different Pull-a-Tune Music Boxes that were designed to be attached to baby's crib rails: #189 Blue Bird and #190 Pony. The #107 Music Box Clock Radio is the sixth music box style, which is in a class of it's own. The #107 is the only music box with a wide rectangular body and clock face on the front with movable clock hands. The seventh music box style was introduced in 1979 as the #790 - "The Candy Man". 1979-1980. Music Box. #790 Candy Man and #791 Let's Go Fly A Kite. These music boxes are ALL PLASTIC with a molded plastic carry handle on the top.
