Description: This is a large wooden wind-up music box that plays, "Jack and Jill". Over the years Fisher-Price had made several different music boxes in various sizes and shapes. The tall rectangular body used for this music box is quite rare and used on only one other music box, the #161 Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe. Though the shape of the music box is rare and interesting, the most appealing feature of this music box is the peep-window on the back that allows the music box mechanism to be viewed. In the early part of 1968, the Music Box was sold with a clear plastic handle. After that, it was sold with a white thin hard plastic handle. This music box could use either a Swiss or a Japanese music box mechanism.
Accessories:
  • FPT1757 - Early 1968 - Tall rectangular wooden music box with a yellow plastic front, a white clicking pretend "channel selector" knob, a white music box wind-up knob, and a round clear plastic handle on top. The music box has a spring antenna on top with a red wooden bead on the end. When the music box is wound, pictures of the "Jack and Jill" nursery rhyme revolve past the "screen" above the wind-up knob as the music box plays "Jack and Jill". The back of the music box has paper lithograph pictures of Jack and Jill, words to the song, and a round clear plastic window to view the music box mechanism as it plays. Uses a Swiss music box mechanism. Measures 7-1/4" tall (not including the carry handle), 4-3/4" wide and 2-1/4" thick (including wind-up knob). WFL: 07-AM-02-F-C. *See "Variations" below.
